Virtual tours have 3 great benefits to the environment, which includes slashing fossil-fuel emissions and cutting paper consumption out of the equation.

I have taken the time to outline 3 environmental problems and how virtual tours can help solve each of them.

Ways we are harming our environment

There are a number of ways we are harming our environment today. If we don’t do something about it now, it will only snowball as time goes on.

Amongst other contributors, the following 3 problems are notable dangers to the environment:

Vehicles – motor vehicles collectively burn an astonishing amount of hydrocarbons, producing tons of carbon dioxide (CO2), a greenhouse gas.

Paper – Paper requires the destruction of trees, many of which are taken from the rain forests. Shrinking rain forests can be become a huge problem as CO2 levels continue to rise.

Power plants – Lastly, but most importantly, our energy demands are increasing daily, which pumps ever increasing levels of CO2 into our atmosphere.

Eco-friendly Virtual Tours

There are, however, a number of ways virtual tours can slash carbon emissions and reduce the amount of paper required.

Less Vehicles

Virtual tours can be given directly in the home, which means tourists need not use a vehicle to get there, neither personal nor public. With less cars on the road, there will be less congestion and less car emissions in the air.

Buses are also commonly used in physical tours. These heavy and slow vehicles vomit emissions into the air and with a virtual tour these are made completely redundant.

Less Paper

The entire virtual tour process can be done over the internet, from payment to the tour itself. The need for paper is completely removed, since there are no tickets required nor any other types of paperwork.

Any health and safety inspections required on a physical tour are unnecessary on a virtual tour. The paperwork involved in this area is also squashed to nothing.

Less Energy

Since virtual tours often run without requiring a physical location, such as an office, energy spent on running one becomes an option rather than a requirement, since less office space is required.

In conclusion, a virtual tour is an instantaneous, eco-friendly activity and is a great alternative to environmentally harmful physical tours.
