Virtual reality game prices

How much do virtual reality games cost? That very much depends upon the game as they are priced on an individual basis.

Take for example the Kinect which has been produced for the Xbox 360 costs around £80 from retailers such as Game. Prices may vary.

However, if you purchase it as part of a bundle with the Xbox 360 then you are looking at £300 – as a rough guide.

The Kinect has been described as the nearest thing to a virtual reality experience.

Sony PlayStation 3 Move has a virtual reality game called ‘Start the Party’ which consists of a series of games for families. It costs around £15 from online retailer Very (www.very.co.uk). Sony has also shown a virtual reality headset which looks like a slimmed down head mounted display but this is a prototype only.

But it seems to be the case that Sony is exploring the area of virtual reality gaming so watch this space.

Virtual worlds such as Second Life, IMVU and Kaneva can be used for free although you will have to buy credits if you want additional features. You will have to search online for these games but there are 3D virtual worlds which can be accessed for free.
