If you can get over the loud colours, the rather scuba-gear looks to the whole thing and the low-tech front strap to hold your phone, it’s actually a pretty cool headset. It’s a bit pricey though for something that doesn’t look like it should cost that much.

Despite the weird company name, the VRIZZMO Revolt (seriously?) does not in fact revolt at all at first glance. It’s called the “re” volt because it’s an update for the VRIZZMO Volt. Although at the time of writing even the Revolt seemed to be at the end of its life. Still, there may be more than a few of these.

It’s a little audacious in the styling department, but the Revolt does have a neat trick up its sleeve. The field of view is quite wide for a case like this and the way they’ve done it is by using two lenses for each eye.

This allows the Revolt to show more of the phone’s screen without the need for an extremely deep chamber. I’m not aware of another HMD in this class that does anything similar.

It’s also very light at just under 250g. It may not seem much lighter than the competition, but for something you wear on your face it could make a difference. Especially if you’re more slightly-built.

The lens arrangement also means that this is one of the most compact full-case smartphone HMDs you can get. Although obviously not nearly as portable as those foldable models.

If you can get over the loud colours, the rather scuba-gear looks to the whole thing and the low-tech front strap to hold your phone, it’s actually a pretty cool headset. It’s a bit pricey though for something that doesn’t look like it should cost that much.
