Homido Grab

Homido has been one of the most consistent makers of mobile VR gear and the Homido Grab is only a small part of their overall lineup, which includes the higher-end V2, a 360-degree camera and even an Android game controller. They really are aiming to be a one-stop shop for mobile VR.

The Grab is nothing particularly special, which explains why the launch price was a little high in a world with the Gear VR at only a little more.

The Grab doesn’t do anything that the Google Cardboard doesn’t specify. The main value proposition of this HMD is the quality of it’s materials and design. It’s got high-quality lenses, a grippy shell and a button.

The main drawback? Well, it isn’t called the “grab” for nothing. There’s no headstrap and so this really is just as limited at the Cardboard.

Not everyone will think of this as a drawback though, it’s a pick up and play solution and Homido has its own little app store to support its products. So perhaps there is something to be said for this simple approach.

Homido have also seen fit to offer the Grab with a whole lot of colour options. Funky, bright and definitely meant to appeal to a younger crowd, this is a mobile VR case for those with decidedly short attention spans. That or lots of arm stamina.
