PSVR 2: Everything We Know So Far

Recently, Sony announced more details of their new much-anticipated PSVR 2 headset. The great news for anyone that’s waiting to get hold of the next-generation VR headset that’s compatible with the PS5 is that it’s available to pre-order from November 15th 2022.

Sony’s new VR will be going up to bat against the likes of the recently released Pico 4 and the already-established Meta Quest 2. Unlike its competitors, it’s not a standalone device, and it comes at a higher-price.

Before you place your pre-order, you’ll probably want to know the specs, and what titles you can expect to see.

Let’s take a look at what you can expect from the new hardware when the PlayStation VR 2 hits the shelves in February.

How Much Will the PSVR 2 Cost?

The price tag for Sony’s new VR headset is set to be £530 in the UK, $550 in the US, and €600 in Europe. This basic bundle includes the headset and controllers.

Alternatively, you can buy the headset with ‘Horizon Call of the Mountain’ for £570/$600/€650.

What Date Is the PSVR 2 Released?

The official launch date for the PSVR 2 is February 22nd 2023, with both bundles appearing in stores on the same day. The Sense controller charging station will also be released at the same time.

The PlayStation VR2 Sense controller charging station will retail at £40 in the UK, $50 in the US, and €50 in Europe. The charging station allows users to recharge their controllers simply by clicking them into place without needing to plug them into their console. This frees up valuable USB ports from the PS5.

What Games Are Expected?

The PSVR 2 is not backwards compatible. This means that users buying the new headset will only be able to play titles designed specifically for use with that model.
